Job Description
To conduct routine and non-routine sample analysis to assure that refinery feed, intermediate and final streams are meeting specifications in compliance with YASREF strategies and operational priorities (profit, safety, reliability, and environmental requirements).
At least three (3) years of experience in Petrochemical or hydrocarbon laboratory testing.
Skills
1. Perform the day-to-day work in order to increase refinery profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
2. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and retain laboratory equipment in good condition.
3. Conduct standard run checks to ensure instruments’ accuracy and reliability.
4. Report out-of-order and out-of-calibration instruments to the direct supervisor in a timely manner.
5. Conduct verification procedures on samples and accept or reject the sample accordingly.
6. Conduct sample analysis as per approved procedures (i.e. ASTM or other international reference analysis methods).
7. Report test results in an accurate and timely fashion through established reporting protocols and discuss abnormal results with the direct supervisor.
8. Handle sample management ensuring adequate quantity and storage as per YASREF’s laboratory policies and working procedures.
9. Ensure that all chemicals and reagents containers are correctly labelled per HAZCOM guidelines.
10. Observe and communicate unsafe actions, work conditions, and incidents to the direct supervisor.
11. Use and complete all the required Raw Data Sheets for finish products and approve it by the shift Control Man (SCM).
12. Ensure compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to effectively and safely handle chemicals.
13. Comply with relevant safety and environmental standards especially upon waste disposal and effectively respond to emergencies per YASREF emergency response plan.
14. Provide the necessary support to the respective OME team member before/after daily meetings to ensure high level of safety performance and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
Education
Diploma in Chemical/Chemistry or Industrial chemistry
