Job Description
1. Perform the day-to-day work in order to increase refinery profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
2. Provide expert advice to field-based Corrosion Specialists & Engineers for complex coatings and CP corrosion control issues such as remedial actions, atmospheric and underground coatings, and above-ground surveys.
3. Implement YASREF’s corrosion control standards and develop, update and conduct trainings for corrosion control policies and procedures including O&M procedures, design specifications, construction and coating specifications, direct assessment integrity management procedures, operator qualification task qualifications, and new training course materials.
4. Handle all coatings-related issues, including maintaining company coatings specifications, selecting coating for atmospheric and buried/submerged pipeline coatings, coatings testing, and developing new coating specifications.
5. Coordinate and support the work of corrosion control contractors such as painting or underground recoating service providers.
6. Manage complex projects such as close-interval surveys and other field surveys including remedial actions, data interpretation and engineering analysis, cathodic protection design, and large painting and underground recoating programs including compressor stations, pipeline spans and bridges, and offshore piping and platforms.
7. Develop remedial action mitigation plans resulting from in-line inspections, cathodic protection surveys, close interval surveys, and DA inspections.
8. Perform corrosion control and coatings failure analysis to determine root-cause working in conjunction with company metallurgists and laboratory personnel, and develop remediation plans.
9. Support DOT, state and corporate pre-audits and inspections and interface with regulatory agencies.
10. Provide support for the technical problems of operations, project engineering and engineering design.
11. Provide the necessary support to the respective OME team member before/after daily meetings to ensure high level of safety performance and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Inspection Specialist Unit Head.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
