Job Scope:
Lead the firefighting and emergency responses team, command emergency operations. Manage day to day operations of the shifts, schedule and administer duties. Respond to any operational abnormalities, ensure that the fire protection operations are conducted in a meticulous and vigilant manner. Ensure all government regulations related to fire safety are followed and implemented appropriately.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Contribute in the development of the annual operational plans in accordance with the objectives of the Division. Contribute in the enhancement and development of business processes, operating procedures, policies and systems.
2. Ensure that all the staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate training programs.
3. Establish KPIs and monitor the achievement of the KPIs related to the annual performance objective. Drive the implementation of HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, procedures. Ensure appropriate HSE training is provided to all the employees to meet HSE standards.

5. Conduct risk assessment inspections, visit the organization premises to identify hazards and develop mitigation plans.
6. Inspect buildings to locate hazardous conditions and fire code violations, such as accumulations of combustible material, electrical wiring problems, and inadequate or non-functional fire exits.
7. Conduct fire code compliance follow-ups to ensure that corrective actions have been taken in cases where violations were found.
8. Ensure that technical specifications for firefighting equipment (fire trucks, foam/water carriers, emergency vehicles, rescue equipment, advance control vehicles, and portable equipment) are in place and in good shape.
9. Inspect properties that store, handle, and use hazardous materials to ensure compliance with laws, codes, and regulations, and issue hazardous materials permits to facilities found in compliance.
10. Ensure that proper firefighting and emergency response techniques are applied. Respond to all kinds of emergencies such as fire, toxic, gas leaks, rescue of people and attend incidents safely and promptly.
11. Conduct regular training classes to update/ maintain current knowledge of fire prevention, safety, and firefighting procedures. Plan, implement and evaluate training for YASREF volunteers and Emergency Response Team (ERT) regularly.
12. Ensure mentorship and development is ensured in the department, Coach, mentor and develop colleagues.
13. Plan and conduct annual fire extinguisher training (theoretical and practical) for YASREF employees. Follow up with new technology in firefighting/emergency response and ensure techniques, equipment, and trainings are in-line with fire-fighting/emergency response best practices.
14. Participate in plans for new or remodeled buildings to ensure the structures meet fire safety codes. Review drawings of all YASREF facilities and plant area layouts for new developments, fire prevention/protection issues including recommending best methods on fire protection systems.
15. Conduct internal investigation to determine negligence and violation of laws and regulations by fire department employees.
16. Develop and coordinate fire prevention programs, such as false alarm billing, fire inspection reporting, and hazardous materials management.
17. Relay work orders, messages, or information to or from work crews, supervisors, or field inspectors, using telephones or two-way radios.
18. Examine fire sites and collect evidence and accelerant residue to determine the cause of a fire.
19. Participate and attend communication and coordination meetings with internal and external agencies. Coordinate emergency drills, work with local fire departments.
20. Ensure all government regulations related to fire safety are followed and implemented appropriately. Provide aid in the mitigation of emergencies, as directed by supervisory personnel, under jurisdiction of outside agencies when required.
18. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct Supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Fire Protection or Equivalent.
Years of work experience: Nine (09) years of relevant experience.
