Laboratory Chemist II - III

1. Perform the day-to-day work in order to increase refinery profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
2. Conduct; evaluate laboratory tests, Collection and analysis of product samples, analysis of results and posting of results.
3. Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct test.
4. Provide recommendations for updating and improving laboratory policies and procedures, and relevant safety and environmental procedures.
5. Resolve non-conformities and analysis related problems that may arise, and report them to the laboratory supervisor and senior staff.
6. Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions.
7. Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
8. Report and coordinate the repair for out-of-order and out-of-calibration instruments.
9. Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in test procedures for analysing components and physical properties of materials.
10. Write technical papers and reports; and prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.
11. Observe and communicate unsafe actions, work conditions, and incidents to the direct supervisor.
12. Identify, planning and implementing productivity and cost improvement opportunities.
13. Provide the necessary support to the respective OME team member before/after daily meetings to ensure high level of safety performance and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
14. Comply with relevant safety and environmental standards at all times and effectively respond to emergencies per YASREF emergency response plan.
15. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct Supervisor.
