Job Description
1. Perform the day-to-day work in order to increase refinery profit, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
2. Perform frequent plant visits to discuss the Process Control Systems and its applications and identify relevant operational issues with respective OME teams.
3. Review the existing control sequence, advanced process control, expert system applications and generate/approve efficient and cost effective sound recommendations/actions.
4. Assist, coordinate and align the review of design scope, project proposals, detailed design of Process control automation projects.
5. Lead the design and develop computer programs team to support Process Control applications.
6. Monitor data backup test to ensure correctness of the computer programs and lead practical trials and test to verify suitability and eliminate errors.
7. Monitor and lead troubleshooting for process Control (including advanced control), ESD, metering and other auxiliary systems to support to the refinery operations.
8. Improve control scheme and develop software programming for plant productivity.
9. Identify and discuss the control system and application programs capabilities and limitations; also identify and discuss the required DCS/ESD and other related systems, vendor technical support & upgrades.
10. Lead hardware/software procurement, installation, commissioning, testing and support tasks for any new Process Control System upgrade (including ESD, advanced control, metering, etc.).
11. Lead troubleshooting and analyze specialized systems (i.e. DCS, ESD, Multi Variable Control, Oil Movement System, Plant Supervisory System, etc.).
12. Participate in plant/refinery Maintenance shutdown to provide required Process Control technical support for Operations and Maintenance.
13. Discuss with IRIS engineer and plant process engineer the process control/PSA alignment and interfacing with other Control Systems.
14. Under supervision attend disasters and emergency situations to provide process control, PAS engineering advice and guidance.
15. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by his direct supervisor.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
